Overview

Specialty drugs are prescription medications that require special handling, administration or monitoring. Benzer specialty pharmacy has a team of experts that understands the complexity of these medications and will help you achieve the best outcome. We offer specialized pharmacy care for patients diagnosed with chronic or complex health conditions such as HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis C, Cancer, Multiple Sclerosis, Psoriasis, and Rheumatoid Arthritis among others.

Refill reminders

Worried about running out of medications? Do you always forget to order your refills? Leave that to us. Benzer Specialty Pharmacy will have one of our Patient Care Coordinators reach out to you at the right time to schedule your next refill. Taking medication incorrectly or forgetting to take it are two of the main reasons patients get readmitted to hospitals. We are trying to change this through our refill reminder program.

Specialty Care Management Programs

Our specialty care management programs focus on patient safety, ensuring that patients take their specialty medications correctly. Our specialty pharmacy professionals will ensure that you receive safe and effective specialty medications. Benzer Specialty Pharmacy can assist you with your needs and specializes in the delivery and clinical management of your specific medical condition that requires these complex medications.

These programs are developed to focus on medication adherence and compliance. Poor medication compliance can lead to:

  • Unnecessary disease progression and complications
  • Worsen the quality of life
  • Additional medical costs and physician visits
  • Increased use of expensive, specialized medical resources
  • Unneeded medication changes

Our specialty care management programs are listed below:

Our Hepatitis C management program will help you through the course of your Hepatitis C treatment and can help you to prevent or manage common side-effects and toxic drug interactions by assessing your personal health history. Our program is dedicated to helping you understand how to deal with this disease. Benzer Specialty Pharmacy has Hepatitis C medications available and is ready to assist you throughout your treatment.
Multiple Sclerosis
Multiple Sclerosis is a neurologic disorder that affects the central nervous system system (CNS). In Multiple Sclerosis, the body’s immune system begins to attack the nerves in the CNS. Our Multiple Sclerosis management program focuses on patient adherence. Studies have shown that patients who adhere to their medication regimen and treatment plan stand a better chance of effectively managing their disease and living a quality life. Our program not only supports patient adherence to treatment, but it also assists physicians, health plans, and employers in meeting their clinical and/or financial goals.
HIV/AIDS
Treatment for HIV can be difficult and hard to manage, often consisting of a variety of different medications that may cause drug interactions or adverse side effects. You can count on our specialty pharmacy to provide the guidance and expertise you need to ensure you are on the most effective and manageable treatment plan.
Our HIV/AIDS management program can assist with your enrollment into the AIDS Drug Assistance Program (ADAP), a special program for those who do not have insurance or otherwise cannot afford treatment. Benzer Specialty Pharmacy coordinates all medications to save you trips to the pharmacy, reach out to you regarding refills, and provide prescription delivery upon request, free of charge. At our specialty pharmacy we provide free HIV counseling at the pharmacy or by phone. Conversations are confidential and safe with us.

Our specialty care management program involves counseling patients on how to take their RA medications correctly and stresses the importance of compliance with their regimen. Furthermore, our specialty professionals are always available to speak to patients who may have concerns regarding their current RA therapy.
Cancer
The Pharmacist-patient relationship is the key in the adherence to cancer medications. Our specialty care management program helps patients with cancer understand medication complexity, puts systems in place to make sure patients are taking their medications, and gives patients tools, such as simple checklists, to help them remember to take their medications. Our Cancer management Program makes sure patients understands directions, as well as any potential conflicts that may exist with other medications.
Psoriasis
Psoriasis is a chronic, immune-mediated disease affecting millions of adults in the United States. This disease affects more than just the skin and is associated with several comorbidities. Our specialty care management program plays a key role in educating and monitoring patients, helping to optimize patient outcomes and improving quality of life.
